Welsh Indoor Bowls Finals 2025

Welsh Indoor Bowls Association Finals – 2025

Diverse Ability Bowlers were included in the 2025 National Finals of the Welsh Indoor Bowls Association for the very first time.  Intellectual Learning Disability Bowlers along with Physical and Visual Impairment Bowlers were all represented on National Finals weekend at Radnor Indoor Bowls Club 12th-13th April 2025.

The Competition started in November 2024 with 40 original entries in the Pairs and 39 bowlers entered in the Triples competitions.  Several rounds had to be negotiated at Cardiff, Merthyr and Pembroke to get down to our Finalists. The Pairs Final took place on Saturday 12th at 2:30 pm with Ian Kelleher and Antanas Schiastney versus Ann Marie Bould and Simon Bould.  The pairs were evenly matched in the first half of the fifteen-end game. Ann Marie and Simon just managing to pull out a reasonable lead to stay in front to the finish.  The triples final was on Sunday 13th also at 2:30pm. This was more one-sided with the Triple of Naomi Baelz, Garon Owen and Ian Kelleher finding the pace of the green a little quicker than Alan Beech, Dave Pratt and Robert Parker. Although Alan Robert and Dave managed to put in a few good ends in the middle of the game the lead of Naomi, Ian and Garon was enough to see them victors by 21-8 shots. Cardiff Chameleons were well represented, with all the finalists in the Pairs and Triples Competitions being Cardiff Chameleons members.
