WLDIB Championship 2021 report

Sixteen Learning Disability bowlers mainly from Cardiff Chameleons, competed against sixteen Para and VI bowlers

In the Welsh Disability Bowls Pairs competition at Llansawel Bowls Club over two days of competition three of our eight pairings progressed from the Round Robin stages of the first day to the Quarter finals on the 22nd July.

Ian Kelleher and Alex Jones were drawn against not one but two Commonwealth Bronze medalist’s  Ian and Alex played some very good bowls but were eventually overcome by Julie Thomas and Paul Brown.  Andrew Hill and Rebecca King lost to the very strong pairing of Chris Spriggs and Dylan Williams.  In the other Quarter Final Ann Marie Coles and Simon Bould won against Robbie Jones and Rob Sawyer.  The Semi finals were between Ann Marie and Simon Bould V  Chris Spriggs & Dylan Williams. On a very tricky rink and in extremely hot conditions, Chris and Dylan played very well to beat Ann Marie and Simon.

And in the other Semi  Julie and Paul beat Ben Tear and Bob Wakeman.
